The concept: your pipeline over time
The Content Manager is great for filtering and finding, but it can't answer "what's going out this week?" at a glance. The Calendar does. It plots dated items on a grid so you can see your pipeline, spot a pile-up on one day, and spread the load.
The calendar isn't content-only. It pulls dated items from across the workspace — content, emails, analytics events, and artifacts — onto one timeline, colored by status. Switch brands and it re-shards to the next brand's schedule.
Items appear based on their date fields — their scheduled date and their published date. An item with no date in the active date sources won't show; that's intentional, so undated drafts don't clutter the grid.
How to use the Calendar
- Open Calendar in the Studio sidebar (
/studio/calendar). - Pick a view: Month, Week, Day, Timeline, or Horizontal. Use the prev / Today / next controls to move through time.
- Use Show Filters to reveal the filter bar. Filter by Type and Status to narrow what's plotted.
- For more control, open Advanced to filter by Content Types, Artifact Types, Tags, Channels, and Language, and to set the Active Date Sources (scheduled vs. published) or toggle Include Artifacts. Reset All clears them.
Drag to reschedule
You can drag an item to a new day. m18t updates that item's date — the scheduled date for a scheduled item, or the published date for a published one — and shows an Undo action in case you misdrop.
Two honest limits:
- An item that's already published and in the past is locked — you can't drag it. Hovering shows "This item has already been published and cannot be rescheduled." The calendar is a planning tool, not a way to rewrite history.
- Rescheduling changes the date, not the live state. Dragging a published item (where allowed) does not un-publish it from your CMS or social. Publishing and unpublishing are separate, manual actions — see Scheduling vs. Publishing.
Common variations
Jumping to an item. Clicking an event opens it (content opens its editor; emails, events, and artifacts open their managers), so the calendar doubles as navigation.
Timeline and Horizontal views. Beyond the month/week/day grid, the Timeline and Horizontal views lay items out as a sequence — useful when you care more about order than calendar squares.
FAQ
Why isn't my content showing on the calendar? The calendar plots items by their active date sources (scheduled / published). A piece with no date won't appear. Set a Scheduled At or Published At date, and confirm your filters and Active Date Sources aren't hiding it.
Does the calendar show more than content? Yes. It pulls content, emails, analytics events, and (when "Include Artifacts" is on) artifacts onto one timeline.
If I drag a published post to a new date, does it re-publish? No. Dragging changes the date field only. It does not re-push or un-publish anything. And already-published past items are locked from dragging entirely.
Does scheduling on the calendar make m18t publish for me? No. There's no auto-publish. The calendar plans; you still publish manually. See Scheduling vs. Publishing.
